Author: Bob Swart

Content:

My second edition of Delphi 2007 for Win32 Development Essentials has just been published on Lulu.com - available in print as well as download - and covers the IDE, Delphi language enhancements, Together support, Unit testing and Globalisation/localisation and is extended with appendices using the webcam (also with RemObjects SDK) and Skype API.
The manual contains over 140 pages, with 46,414 words and numerous screenshots plus two appendices (on webcams and Skype API) that were not included in the previous edition. Specific topics like VCL Database Development, IntraWeb Web Development, ASP.NET Web Development and XML, SOAP and Web Services will be covered in forthcoming courseware manuals in the next few weeks (one per week).

David Taylor 08/04/10 12:00:55As a buyer of the original hardcopy edition, am I entitled to any upgrade?
Bob Swart 08/04/10 12:24:10The main updates were in the appendices - later today, I will upload a free PDF version of the appendices to the download location for the source files (a location which was mentioned in the "Thank You!" note you got from Lulu).
Bob Swart 08/04/10 12:43:45The appendices as well as new source code archives for the Win32 Development Essentials and Win32 VCL Database Development manuals are now available for download at the "Thank You" location.
David Taylor 08/04/10 12:45:36Thanks
Jordi Tudela 08/04/10 17:02:37Does the hard copy include the pdf version?
Bob Swart 08/04/10 17:09:26No, the printed version does not contain the electronic PDF version. If you purchase the PDF version, you can print it (only) for yourself, and/or use the Acrobat Reader to read it from your own machine.
Bob Swart 08/04/10 17:11:47You could also decide to purchase the editions with e-mail support from my courseware site at http://www.eBob42.com/courseware - these versions are more expensive, but they come with personal e-mail support (only about the topics in the book, not about other topics please)...
